On 26 September 2006 the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union presented the results of a study: “Regional aspects of the human rights situation in Ukraine” carried out over the year in cooperation with regional human rights organizations

The report compares the state of affairs with regard to human rights over the ‘Kuchma era’ and in 2005. Interrelated trends are considered which defined the ever more flagrant violations of human rights under the 10 years of Kuchma’s regime, with a brief analysis of the same trends in 2005.

This report aims to provide a comparison of the situation with regard to human rights in Ukraine during the period which has already become known as the ‘Kuchma era’ (1994-2004) and the situation in 2005.

This is a special issue No.67 of the informative-analytic bulletin "Prava ludyny". It contains materials devoted to freedom of peaceful assemblies and freedom of associations in Ukraine as well as some aspect of development of civil society and human rights protection in Ukraine. file.zip, 129kb
