Marina Soroka, Press Secretary of the jailed former Prime Minister and opposition leader, Yulia Tymoshenko, has called on journalists to stop writing about Tymoshenko’s masseuse supposedly attending her in the penal colony where she has been held since 30 December last year.. She says that Ms Tymoshenko does not have a masseuse, and asks journalists to not participate in what she calls a special operation from Bankova (the President’s Administration].

She states that television channels controlled by the regime have been pushing the idea that Ms Tymoshenko is being held in very comfortable conditions. “I would remind you that Yulia Tymoshenko is presently totally dependent on the regime and cannot independently decide where she is and in what conditions. She is forced to be in the “decorations” built by the regime”.
